About Emma - the player

Emma started playing table tennis at the age of 9 when she was asked to take part in an inter-village competition in Hertfordshire. She ended up winning the event, beating 17 year olds. The coach running the event spotted her potential and invited her to his local coaching sessions.

A successful junior playing career followed, reaching an England ranking of 12, numerous county titles and being crowned the U19 English Schools Champion.

Emma continued to play as a senior, peaking at number 14 on the England ranking list and reaching the quarter finals of the National Championships.

Throughout her younger days, Emma was fortunate to be coached by some of the country's best coaches such as Nick Jarvis, Jackie Bellinger and David Fairholm.
