Following the success of our recent Women and Girls Coaching Afternoon, which saw an incredible 41 participants attend, I was delighted to be invited to deliver a second session with reduced numbers to allow for more focused, personalised coaching.

This time, 16 ladies took part, creating an ideal environment for targeted support and individual feedback. I was ably assisted by Civil Service players Charlotte and Rosie, whose enthusiasm and expertise added real value to the session.
Over the two-hour programme, we concentrated on developing strong foundations, with a focus on the execution and technique of the basic strokes. From there, we progressed to reading, generating, and dealing with spin—key skills for improving match play. The session concluded with dedicated work on serving technique and tactics, including direction and placement.
It was a fantastic afternoon of learning, energy, and improvement, and the two hours flew by. The commitment and positivity shown by everyone involved was inspiring, and I look forward to running more of these sessions in the future.
